On September 8, HIPDS held a press briefing at its Hong Kong headquarters and officially released the 2025 Asia-Pacific Healthcare Innovation Development White Paper. This is the third consecutive year that the Society has published the white paper.

The 2025 edition draws on data and cases from 12 major economies in the Asia-Pacific. The research team visited more than 200 medical and research institutions and interviewed over 100 experts and scholars. The report was prepared by the HIPDS Academic Affairs Department with data support and professional analysis from the Medical Research and Development Centre and the Clinical Practice Evaluation Committee.

The white paper identifies three major trends. First, artificial intelligence applications in medicine are moving rapidly into practical deployment, especially in medical imaging, clinical decision support, and drug discovery. Second, precision medicine is shifting from concept to practice, with genomic-based individualized diagnosis and treatment expanding in oncology, rare diseases, and chronic disease management. Third, digital health ecosystems are developing quickly, supported by policy and capital investment.

The report also notes ongoing challenges, including uneven regional development, insufficient clinical validation, data governance pressure, and the shortage of interdisciplinary talent. HIPDS will use the white paper as a basis for future research support, academic exchange, and policy discussion.
