The HIPDS Excellence Award for Healthcare Innovation was established in 2020 as an annual, authoritative academic honour conferred by the Healthcare Innovation and Practice Development Society. It recognises and celebrates medical professionals who have made outstanding contributions to healthcare innovation research, clinical practice translation, and public health service. As one of the most prestigious healthcare innovation awards in the Asia-Pacific region, the Award has held six successful cycles since its inception, honouring more than 200 distinguished laureates from 18 countries and regions.

The selection process upholds the principles of fairness, impartiality, and transparency, overseen by an independent jury comprising the Society's Academic Review Committee and specially invited international experts. All evaluations strictly adhere to international academic assessment standards, employing multi-round screening and double-blind review mechanisms to ensure that every laureate is a true exemplar of distinction in their field. Recipients are awarded an official certificate of honour and a commemorative trophy, invited to deliver a laureate address at the annual award ceremony held each November, and granted priority access to the Society's research resources. We firmly believe that by recognising excellence, we can inspire more medical professionals to commit to innovative practice and advance the continued progress of medicine.

临床创新奖面向在临床医疗实践中展现卓越创新能力的临床医生和外科医生。该奖项重点关注新型诊疗技术的开发与应用、手术方式的革新与优化、临床路径的创新设计以及患者治疗结局的显著改善。申请者需提交近三年内在临床实践中取得的创新性成果，包括但不限于新技术的临床应用报告、多中心临床研究数据、患者预后改善的统计分析等。评审委员会将重点考察创新成果的临床实用价值、可推广性以及对患者健康结局的实质性贡献，优先考虑已在多个医疗机构成功推广应用的创新成果。
The Clinical Innovation Award is open to clinicians and surgeons who demonstrate outstanding innovation in clinical medical practice. The award focuses on the development and application of novel diagnostic and therapeutic technologies, the reform and optimisation of surgical techniques, innovative clinical pathway design, and the significant improvement of patient treatment outcomes. Applicants must submit innovative achievements attained within the preceding three years, including, but not limited to, clinical application reports of new technologies, multicentre clinical research data, and statistical analyses of improved patient prognoses. The Review Committee will assess the clinical utility, scalability, and substantive contribution to patient health outcomes of each submission, with preference given to innovations that have been successfully adopted across multiple healthcare institutions.

The Translational Medicine Award is open to researchers and scientists dedicated to translating fundamental research discoveries into clinical applications. The award focuses on the full continuum from bench to bedside, encompassing new drug development and clinical trials, biomarker discovery and validation, precision diagnostic and therapeutic tool development, and innovative medical device research. Applicants should demonstrate key advances and breakthrough contributions along the bench-to-bedside translational pathway, providing comprehensive documentation of the translation process and evidence of milestone achievements. Evaluation criteria place particular emphasis on translational potential, scientific rigour, clinical applicability, and the degree of contribution to advancing medical knowledge into practice.

The Public Health Contribution Award is open to public health professionals and disease prevention and control personnel who have made significant contributions to public health and epidemic prevention. The award recognises professionals who have achieved outstanding results in epidemiological research, formulation of disease prevention and control strategies, public health policy advocacy, health education promotion, and innovation in community health services. Applicants must provide evidence of measurable outcomes and social impact in the field of public health, including data on reductions in disease incidence, statistics on improved health behaviours, and policy impact assessment reports. Evaluation will focus on the social coverage of results, the degree of improvement in population health indicators, and the long-term impact on public health system development.

The Nursing & Rehabilitation Innovation Award is open to nurses, rehabilitation therapists, and pharmacists who demonstrate an innovative spirit in nursing, rehabilitation, and pharmaceutical services. The award aims to recognise healthcare team members who have made outstanding contributions to innovations in patient care models, improvements in rehabilitation therapy techniques, optimisation of pharmaceutical services, multidisciplinary collaborative practice, and patient safety management. Applicants should submit comprehensive documentation of their innovative practice programmes, including implementation design, outcome evaluation data, and patient satisfaction survey results. Evaluation criteria prioritise the practicality of innovative solutions, the extent of patient benefit, replicability, and the contribution to improving the overall quality of healthcare services.
青年医疗创新奖面向年龄在40岁以下（含40岁）的优秀青年医学工作者，不限专业方向，涵盖临床医学、基础研究、公共卫生、护理康复及药学等所有医学相关领域。该奖项旨在发掘和培养医疗创新领域的新生力量，鼓励青年医学人才大胆探索、勇于创新。申请者需提供在医疗创新方面的代表性成果，以及清晰的未来研究规划和职业发展目标。评审将综合考量申请者的学术潜力、创新思维能力、已取得的阶段性成果以及未来发展前景，为具有卓越潜质的青年才俊提供展示平台。
The Young Innovator Award is open to outstanding young medical professionals aged 40 years and below (inclusive), with no restriction on disciplinary focus, encompassing all medically related fields including clinical medicine, fundamental research, public health, nursing and rehabilitation, and pharmacy. The award aims to identify and nurture the next generation of leaders in healthcare innovation, encouraging young medical talent to explore boldly and innovate with confidence. Applicants must provide representative achievements in healthcare innovation, together with a clear future research plan and career development objectives. Evaluation will holistically assess the applicant's academic potential, innovative thinking, milestone achievements to date, and future prospects, offering an outstanding platform for young professionals of exceptional promise.

申请者通过HIPDS官方平台在线提交申请材料，包括个人简历、创新成果报告、支撑文件及推荐信等。每年申请窗口开放时间为3月1日至6月30日。
Applicants submit their application materials online via the official HIPDS platform, including a curriculum vitae, innovation achievement report, supporting documents, and letters of recommendation. The annual application window opens from 1 March to 30 June.
学会秘书处对所有申请材料进行资格审查，核实申请者身份信息、学历背景和从业资质，确认材料完整性和规范性。初审周期约2周。
The Society Secretariat conducts an eligibility review of all application materials, verifying the applicant's personal information, educational background, and professional qualifications, and confirming the completeness and compliance of the submission. The preliminary review cycle is approximately two weeks.
通过初审的申请材料将隐去申请者个人信息，分配给至少3位相关领域的资深专家进行独立评审打分，每位专家根据统一评分标准进行量化评价。
Applications that pass the preliminary review are anonymised and assigned to a minimum of three senior experts in the relevant field for independent scoring. Each expert conducts a quantitative assessment in accordance with a unified scoring rubric.

The Review Committee conducts a comprehensive deliberation based on the expert scoring results to determine the shortlist of candidates in each category. No more than ten candidates are shortlisted per category.
入围候选人受邀进行线上或线下答辩报告，展示创新成果核心内容并接受评审委员的提问。答辩表现将纳入最终评审的重要考量因素。
Shortlisted candidates are invited to deliver an online or in-person presentation to showcase the core content of their innovations and respond to questions from the Review Committee. Performance in the presentation constitutes an important factor in the final evaluation.
评审委员会召开终审会议，综合评审意见和答辩表现确定最终获奖名单。获奖结果将在学会官方网站进行为期15个工作日的公示，接受社会监督。
The Review Committee convenes a final deliberation meeting to determine the list of award recipients based on consolidated review opinions and presentation performance. The results are published on the Society's official website for a public comment period of 15 working days, subject to public oversight.
获奖者将在每年11月举行的HIPDS医疗创新卓越奖颁奖典礼上正式接受表彰，获颁荣誉证书和纪念奖杯，并受邀进行获奖报告，分享创新经验与成果。
Recipients will be formally honoured at the HIPDS Healthcare Innovation Excellence Award Ceremony held each November, where they will receive their official certificate of honour and commemorative trophy. They will also be invited to deliver a laureate address to share their innovative experiences and achievements.
